Visitation is one of the more important ministries of the congregation. Roeh Israel is fulfilling the command to "visit the sick." Ministers visit those in the hospital as well as those who are sick at home, bringing comfort and fellowship to those who are in need. This ministry of helps and prayer is an integral part of the healing process. "Bear one another's burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ." ~ Galatians 6:2
Ronette Davis heads up Roeh Israel's Hinaney Ministry. Hinaney, which means "Here am I," is a ministry of helps at Congregation Roeh Israel. People who have expertise in various areas register with Hinaney and are called upon to help their brethren in times of need. This ministry fulfills the command that, "those who are strong out to bear up those who are weak and not just please themselves" ~ Romans 15:1. As a body, God desires that we help one another, and this ministry fulfills that desire. "Do not withhold good from those to whom it is due, when it is in your power to act." ~ Proverbs 3:27
Keith & Elaine Stewart, and Bob & Deb Kotowski lead the Roeh Israel Hospitality Ministry. There are people whose lives will be touched as you pronounce blessing upon them. What a privilege it is to extend the blessing of God to others. Proclaim that blessing through your words, extend it through your hands and declare it through your prayers. Hospitality initially greets and welcomes new and old persons in attendance of worship services. Our goal is to have people feel welcomed through active participation in social events, new members' luncheons, other ministries and/or other areas of interest.
We encourage people to offer assistance by simply making newcomers feel welcomed and as time passes we hope people find Roeh Israel to be their place of worship. Keith, Elaine, Bob and Deb welcome any questions people might have regarding this ministry. Introduce yourself, extend a handshake or share a smile. Remember you were once new in a strange place.
